Altered Mug

Altered mug with graphics from Dezinaworld. Sheet music from The Graphics Fairy.

Flowers: Recollections/Boutique Fleurs
Small Roses: Fairytale Roses/Prima Flowers
Seam Binding: Lawrence Schiff
Faux Pearls: Mark Richards
Lace: Darice Inc.
Cheesecloth: Dritz
Natural Excelsior Moss/American Moss/Fiberex

To create this piece, I covered the front of the mug with music paper. I adhered it using gel medium. Then, I added embellishments, including cheesecloth, lace, flowers, and faux pearls. I placed moss inside the mug and added the egg.

The egg was created by using music paper that I tore into random pieces and adhered to a plastic Easter egg with gel medium. (This part is time-consuming.) Then, I glued the lace and flower to the egg.

Finally, I tied curly seam binding to the handle of the mug. Voila! All done!

This altered mug is amazing!! So unique and interesting to see all the intricate details in creating this masterpiece. I love it. What an interesting table adornment...I can almost hear the wonderful comments it would receive.

This is such a great idea - I have a couple of beautiful tea cups with saucers with slight cracks - can't be used to serve in any longer, but I can see them coming back to life now! Thank you! What wonderful ideas!

Donna
